Why is eBay going against their own posted policy?? eBay Canada is charging a Final Value Fee on the Total Amount of the Transaction, including the Taxes paid by buyer. According to eBay themselves, Taxes are NOT TO BE INCLUDED in calculating FINAL VALUE FEE. So then, why are they gouging Canadians and charging us in the Taxes also?? Here is their policy right from their own pages:
"If the item or relisted item sells, you're charged a final value fee calculated on the total amount of the sale and are charged per item. In this case, the " total amount of the sale" is the final price of the item, shipping charges, and any other amounts you may charge the buyer. Sales tax is not included."
AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE EBAY???????
Okay, I think I found the page that you found, @salvadord. It's this one, right?
https://pages.ca.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html
Did you find it with a Google search? That's how I found it. That page is hosted on eBay.com, not eBay.ca like the current help pages, and appears to be about six years old as it makes reference to "upcoming" fee increases for 2018. It's also not designed like the current help pages.
I think that page is still up for archival purposes. It doesn't seem to be linked to anything currently on the eBay.ca help pages:
It's not a matter of fairness. @salvadord. The fees are what they are and sellers decide if they can put up with them or not.
I don't know about you, but if I was listing this $8.00 card for a friend and doing all the work involved in selling it, I wouldn't consider $2.50 or so enough compensation for all the work I did.
