How long does is a Buyer allowed to wait before making payment on an item they bid on and won?

I am just a new Seller on eBay and have sold an item on Match 20, 2013. The Buyer placed a bid on my item and then went back in to the same item and placed an automatic bid - so they obviously wanted the item. How much time are they allowed before having to pay for this item? I have sent and email as well as an invoice to the Buyer and have gotten no response from them.

Bidders can make any number of bids they like. And don't worry the system will not allow him to bid against himself.

If his first bid was, say, $1.00, and then he decided he would go higher, he could go back and bid $10. If there were no other bidders, he would win at $1.00.

Is the problem that he won but has not paid? Since over 4 days have passed, and since he is uncommunicative, go here:

http://resolutioncentre.ebay.ca/

and start an Unpaid Item Dispute. You can close it after another four days and get your selling fees back.

The non-paying bidder will not be able to leave you any feedback.

It happens. Don't take it personally.

And better luck next time.

BTW- are either of the Christmas items you currently offer under 2 cm thick?

If so you can send them Letter/Light Packet rate for much less than you currently ask.

Neither Small Packet USA nor LP offer either Delivery Confirmation or insurance, but they are so much cheaper that conventional wisdom is that the occasional loss will be much less than the increase in sales.

There are lots of threads on shipping costs, services, insurance, etc. Take a while to read them.
