I am a small scale reseller of clothing and household items, typically 3-5 items per week, lately if I am lucky. My items usually have 1-12 views within a week. In the past week or so, I have noticed the views for specific items, like ladies tops, go up to 120-125 within a week! I have one men's shirt that suddenly went over 400 views. While lots of views should be a good thing, I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this or if anyone knows what is happening? Btw, this has NOT led to an increase in sales. I called ebay and asked about this and was told nobody else has reported this issue and I should be happy to have lots of views.
Thanks
it's the quirk we call Ebay turned on the Lights. or if it goes the other way Ebay turned off the Lights. and yes it happens more often than it should.

One simple reason is if your item got linked on a popular social website ...
There are lots of connections on the internet and sometimes they drive the traffic to you. As for no more sales, just because someone looks, does not mean they will see value in buying.

There is also a post on the dotCOM sellers' board with a similar question.
Without any extra sales the poster suddenly started getting hundreds, even over a thousand, views.
Social media?
A glitch?
Neither views nor watchers seem to do anything for sales, so just take it as a morale booster.
