Having HTML problems

I just noticed that some of my listing are showing the HTML in the description which make it look confusing. They were listings I have been running for months now. Not all my listing are changed but at least 30% of them. I tried to revise and redo the HTML but no luck. Some of them are missing my description and just showing the pre-fill info. Anyone else having this problem??

Have you done any of the remove-active-content work that ebay has required to stay compliant?

Are they mobile-compliant? It's a setting you can check on revision.

Give 3 listing numbers with the issue and post the item numbers here. I could not find listing with the issue when I looked at your listings.

The listings with the HTML problem are gone. I can't explain it but now a lot of my listing are missing my description. I can see it on my phone and if I try to revise, the description is still there. I use Google Chrome, so I tried Explorer and the descriptions are there. This must be a browser problem. I tried it on 2 different computers with Chrome and had the same problem. Chrome is up to date on both. May have to switch browsers 😞

Switching browsers may solve the problem for you but what about your customers who use Google Chrome as their main browser? Do they have issues viewing some of your listings and just leave your listings in frustration?

Google Chrome browser is the most popular browser used today.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_web_browsers

Chrome has at least 50% or more users as their main browser according to the web page above. That is potentially a lot of eBay buyers leaving your listings and potential sales lost. It is best to know why if possible for the issue.

Post back some items numbers with the issue so that members here can see if the problem is serious. With eBay restricting Active content, even if you do not have active content in your listings, eBay may be breaking their site for certain HTML codes. Or you have a HTML issue that only shows up in some listings in some browsers.

I am using FireFox latest version as my main browser and have seen no issues. I just tried my Google Chrome browser and looked at many of your listings with no issues. Strange since you say your listings do not work on 2 different computers. Using latest Windows 10 updated on a desktop computer here.

PS Did you clear your browsers cookies and cache and your windows temp files to make sure that you do not have old eBay code affecting your Chrome browser.  I use free CCleaner to clean my computer browsers and Windows every time I start up my computer. It seems to have made using Windows and eBay so much easier over the years.

Here is what I have done so far. I cleaned the cache, including cookies. I updated Java. I disabled my ad-blocker. I deactivated most of my extensions. My windows 10 and chrome are up to date. For the most part, the descriptions are appearing. I find the description is the last part to load and sometimes doesn't load at all. If I refresh, it does load.

It doesn't seem to matter which listing. It happens randomly in each listing. Here is the latest one I checked where the description didn't load: eBay item number: 272733577652

I have sent an incident report to Google to see if they have an answer. I am not an expert on HTML so I am listing the code below in one of the sales it happens to.

I checked your listing in FireFox and Chrome and it looked okay to me.

When posting HTML code, do not post directly in the body of a post. It may get changed. These forums can handle code in an isolated box to keep it intact. When making a reply post, on the toolbar there is a symbol {i} for Insert Code which opens a box to paste the code in. Please repost your code using that tool.

I will message eBay member shipscript on eBay.com forums to come review your issue here. She is an expert in HTML and eBay listings and is very helpful with issues like you have
