Attaching a photo to a message

Not sure if this is the right location for this however... I can't get photos to upload to a message. Have tried numerous times. Worse, I can't find how to communicate the problem to Ebay . I use a mac with Catalina OS and the file is a regular JPEG. Any advice?

Are you using an app or a web browser to send the message?

Do you have popups enabled for ebay?

This is what I see with a browser using Puppy Linux.

press the + in the photo area and the popup allows me to pick an image on my drive
