In case of an emergency, is there a way in one swoop to put all listings on hold and not accept any orders?

You can also put your Active Listings in as long a list as possible (200 per page)
Then on the top left tick the book above the left column (left of Edit).
Go to Actions-> End.
Click.
All 200 listings will go to your Unsold List and stay there for 60 days.
You will not get a refund on any listing fees you paid.
If your listings are Fixed Price, they will not relist in 30 days at a new charge.

Since you don't have a store you can't put your listings on vacation but if you use the out of stock function all items with a 0 quantity, they will be hidden from view. Use bulk edit to mark them all with a 0 quantity.

Thanks for your quick response. This looks like the easiest solution in a non-store case. A single "kill" switch would have been nice.

BTW- when you want to reopen, but don't want to pay a monthly subscription for a Store.
You can double the number of Free Listings from 50 a month to 100 a month by putting 50 on dotCA and 50 on dotCOM.
The US listings have to ship to the USA (which you already do), have Flat Rate Shipping, and be listed in US dollars (your Canadian customers will see your prices in both currencies, just as your US customers do now).

I like this idea as well. I see no "book" but if I click on "edit" I see an option to "edit all listings". From there I can select quantity and enter a zero.
