antique necklace large beads have seam, but appear polished.  doesn't feel like plastic.  you can see lines and not bubbles, but sort of like bubbles. thanks in advance,

Not a very sharp photo, but it sounds like glass (bubbles) imitating coral.

The string seems to be some sort of "silk" cord. Is there some wear apparent?

Is there a clasp? Picture that too.

Asian  and asian-style jewelry has been fashionable off and on for over 150 years (Madame Butterfly, The Mikado) and imitations made both in the East and the West.

There is a Jewelry Board on dotCOM, where there are more members, but try for sharper pictures.

It is very hard to judge from just a photo but that material has the look of an early plastic to me ... maybe bakelite or one of the other early types.  Is there any odour at all?
