Are you trying to link a bank account in Canadian dollars from one of the five major Canadian banks?

If your account at BNS is in Canadian dollars, it should be no problem
The transit number on your cheques should read 5 digits
and the account number should have 7 digits

only the first five are needed. Check your bank statement - you should see 5 digits only

The bank information you have added is invalid or missing. Please try again.
- You have entered either an invalid Institution Number or Branch Transit number. Please make sure the Institution number contains no dashes or spaces and is 3 digits, and your Branch Transit number is 5 digits.
and i check and recheck all the info

In addition to the cheque number, my BMO cheques read
29172 001
29172 is the branch number (transit)
001 is the institution number
What do your BNS cheques read?

In the example used by PayPal, the numbers at the bottom of the cheque are:
12345 345
12345 is the branch transit number
345 is the institution number
Your cheque should follow the same pattern

eBay and Paypal are under the same umbrella - they are "the same company" so to speak. Also, I would never advise posting any of your banking information, not even transit numbers to a public post.

"not even transit numbers to a public post."
???
The transit number leads to a bank branch - not individual account. The information is publicly available.
