mail going missing

So far this past two months I have had what seems to be 3 pieces of missing mail, two that were sent from the same city that I live in the other was sent from Israel by registered mail to be signed for and is now some 35+ days plus and no signs of it.  The other two missing pieces from the same seller one was sent on October 6, 2017 the other was sent on October 11, 2017, these were sent from the same city.  This makes three items I ordered from this seller in my city the first I received after 3 days, the others are no shows.  I have tried writing the seller a number of times but so far just an acknowledgement was received from him.  The one from Israel I received a refund.  One of the ones from this city seller I have a no receipt claim in for and so far not even ebay is getting a reply from the seller the other item I cannot claim a no receipt for until tomorrow October 25, 2017.  I am so far not knowing whether this is to blame on Canada Post or not?

Re: mail going missing

You did not receive a Registered item from Israel.

The seller has refunded you.

Registered Mail is a very old system which postal services are phasing out.

Registered Mail is no longer tracked once it leaves the country of origin.

It would be polite to let your seller know that so that he can correct his shipping practices and stop losing money.

BTW If he sent it surface, it may still be on its way. Surface mail often takes three months or more to arrive.

You ordered three items from a local seller.

One arrived within three days

The ones shipped on Oct 6 and Oct 11 have not arrived.

What are the last estimated arrival dates for these?

I gather, though you don't say so, that  for the Oct 6 item you have opened an Item Not Received dispute.

The seller has been told to provide proof of delivery.

If he does not, and eBay allows him time for this (I think four days) , ask eBay to step in and escalate to a Claim.

If he doesn't prove delivery, you will be refunded.

Since he is not responding, open the second dispute tomorrow.

Check the local seller's feedback. And leave your own.

The most effective feedback is calm and factual but you cannot mention Disputes.

Three missing shipments is unusually high.

It would be a good idea to mark your mailbox NO SAFE DROP.

This will tell the carrier not to leave parcels. You will have to pick up at your local PO when you get a delivery notice.

Re: mail going missing

Hi femmefan1946:

In regards to the two missing items from the same city one estimate delivery ended on October 20, 2017 and for this ones I already filed a no receipt claim.  The second one from the same city estimate delivery ends October 24, 2017, and I will file a no claims receipt in the morning of October 25, 2017, both these items would have come in a #10 envelope or smaller.  The one in question from Israel no matter how many times I stated there was no tracking for foreign registered with tracking the seller still insisted on sending registered mail, the last thing I remember seeing is that it left Israel on September 18, 2017, bound for Canada.

Re: mail going missing

My first comment would be to have a little patience or sellers will not deal with you .

As far as registered mail, the is upwards of a 40 day delay at Customs due to drugs coming by letter mail.

The last registered letter I received from over seas took 62 days to be delivered.

You can file an item not received up to 180 days on Paypal. Not sure why you file the earliest possible date. Could you not wait for 30 days for normal mail and 60 days for overseas mail?

If you can't wait, maybe on line purchases are not for you.

Re: mail going missing

I am sure some sellers reading this post will assume it is high risk to mail to you and will block you to be safe.
