I sold a One dollar coin for $1.58. + 89 cents shipping.  I Think ebay charges me 10% of  toatl sale including shipping (which is a scam).

Then paypal charges me 37 cents and an envelope cost me a penny.

Did I really just sell a one dollar coin for 95 cents???

I am finding a lot of buyers have been giving me low stars on shipping if I charge more than a few pennies more than the stamp says.

I was also getting low stars on communication even I though I shipped within 24 hrs and gave all details short and sweet of shipment in message. When I Buy I rarely ever get correspondance. I don't get it?

Could be that is what you did !

Take a look at the coins being sold at the Post Office outlets.  They charge

more than the face value of the coin.

The answer is you will have to take into account, what e-Bay is going to

charge you, how much it is going to cost to ship and what "profit" you

want, and then charge "Buy it Now" or start an auction at a suitable value.

The advice that eBay gives you is good for eBay, not necessarily for you.

Before you set your asking price, work out all your actual costs. Then set your asking price.

The 99 cent opening price on auctions is a strategy that was useful about 15 years ago.

Free Shipping is still a useful strategy. Just be sure you calculate your shipping cost into the asking price.

Count it as a learning experience. Doncha hate those?

"(which is a scam). "

If it is a scam then why did you agree to it by accepting the User Agreement when you registered?

I'm sure you are aware that ebay is not the only place on the interenet in which to sell your items so if you are not happy here, you can always sell your items somewhere else.

Non paying buyers deserve unpaid item strikes.
