Custom's limits for importing into Canada

As we likely all know, our limits are CA$20 before we have to pay taxes, (sometimes duties) and $5 to CP (up to $60 if marked as "gift").

For the USA, it's US$200.

Since I ship plenty to Australia, I looked up their rules. This from the Australian custom's website:

All goods (except for tobacco products and alcoholic beverages) may be imported duty and tax free if their value is $1,000 or less.

Sigh..., would it not be nice to have some more leeway here? OK, this is a "whining" post and serves no purpose...LOL!
