I wish to buy an item listed on E-bay from Abingdon, Maryland, United States

which is listed as FREE Expedited Int'l Shipping.

Are there any extra charges hidden charges ?

So their list price is the only price I will have to pay ?

The price is only listed as $18 U.S. for the item I am buying and I am from Canada.

Personally, I would pass.

This new seller - registered on eBay in 2006 with zero feedback as a seller - just sold 30 identical items with "free shipping" in the last three days.

All the "red flags" are up.

The listing claims "Item location: Abingdon, Maryland, United States" (I do not believe that)

Frankly it is simply too good to be true.

If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck and quacks like a duck.....

If you check the other items for sale by the same new seller, you see the same pattern: US12 to US$18 with free shipping from the USA and most listings have sold about 30 items each in the last three days.

I suggest you put the listing on your "watch list" and take another look in a week or two.

But if I do buy and I don't get the item or turns out to be fraud, I still get PayPal Protection money back guarantee. No?

The listing reads: "Estimated Delivery within 7-11 business days "

So you have to wait until the 12th business day (two and half weeks) after payment before filing a claim for non-receipt. Then it may take some time before your account is refunded US$18 by PayPal, unless the seller can evidence shipping something to your address.

It is your money. Do as you see fit.

I think it's a scam as well. Buy it now prices for comparable items are $100+ so do you really think that you are going to get one for $18 including shipping? What if the sellers sends you junk...you still have the hassle of returning it before you get your money back. It's not worth it in my opinion.

Even the sellers from China need good feedback rating in order to continue selling stuff.

Since they always tell me to put a good feed back rating for them and that negative feedback would be bad for their business.

They don't require that for people selling from the U.S.A for buyers to give feedbacks ?

Feedback is voluntary. There is no obligation to leave feedback.

Since this seller only started selling three days ago, it would be improbable to get feedback for at least another week.

On the other hand, despite 400 sales in the last three days, that seller has not left positive feedback for any of the paying buyers.

You get an envelpe with tracking showing delivered, then what, It is the latest scam going.

Seller sells as many as he can, sends out a bunch of envelopes with tracking and it becomes a nightmare.

Put the item on your Watch list. Wait a couple of weeks.

If the seller is not NARU by then, read his feedback.

Yes, and even more important are the Detailed Seller Ratings.

A good feedback is 99% to 100%. 98% is mediocre and 97% is bloody awful.

DSRs under 4.5 are questionable and under 4.3 get the seller's account closed.

I wonder how many people this person scammed? Maybe a few hundred and how all these people going to get their money back from PayPal ? PayPal will be the loser in this situation ?
