Some good news for those sellers who buy in Canada and sell largely to US customers. The dollar has been moving in the right direction in the last few days. I just took a peek at XE.com and its trading at 1.177 or just under 85 cents (depending how you want to look at it).

We will all need the stronger US dollar to offset some of the increases we are facing from eBay and Canada Post. Despite how he may want to colour it to the contrary, don't let Jordan Banks take credit for this as one of his Canadian seller profitability initiatives.

Dare we hope for a buck-20???

well the 85 cent dollar was short lived, it's up a quarter since this afternoon.

Of course it could easily drop a penny on Monday morning.

My predictions for the Dollar have been pretty bad, my guess is that 1.20 might be possible but it will be a brief window.

I moved a bunch of money yesterday via xe.com, could not resist a 14 month low for the Loonie. Given that it should fall a bit more. If it does get to 1.20 I'll be transfer ALL my US Dollars.

Bestshow, as the Canadian dollar goes higher our profits go lower. We want a low Canadian dollar for better profits.

This low exchange rate is pretty bad. An at par dollar would be a killer. Yikes! I don't want that, that's for sure!

It's a little worse than that ... the Canadian export economy would crumble and we'd have massive unemployment.

May be you right about profits on e-bay if you buy items in Canada and sale to USA. I buy most my items from UK. But it doesn't really matter. E-bay doesn't make Canada powerful country. Low exchange rate is good for third sort of countries, or for country which is in economical trouble.
There is better interest in trade around all world and there are Canadian citizens who likes to travel.
Canada sale to Russia satellite for space program
1.00 Canada Dollars = 22.5110 Russia Rubles before it was 1=5,000
What do you think who start to lose money Canada or Russia?
You buy in Canadian stores almost everything from United States or items which went through US and then delivery to Canada. Are you don't think about that? Do you know I bought Mitsubishi Eclipse 2006 in Canada for $42000Can. Can you check how much it cost in US?:-):-DB-):^O?:|

To: Ann"the Canadian export economy would crumble and we'd have massive unemployment."
My friend have company "WSSL" in Calgary which build huge and small tents. Most of his product he sale to USA. But he buy all fabrics and most parts for his tents in USA. For him exchange rate don't make difference.
Ann!!! Did you read newspaper at list once in month?I don't think you read any newspaper! Because in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta 44% of semi trucks waiting for drivers!!! In Alberta need 270,000 specialists for drilling crews. Now in these provinces new low about immigrants, who can apply for working permit!
And please, don't forget that second big country in the world has just 30,000,000 people. It is why you and me pay so high tax!
For you better: Stop sale on E-bay and start drive semi truck for $60,000-90,000 in one year or work on drilling rig for $120,000-350,000.:^O:^O:^O
