U.S delivery is taking way too long in some cases. Anyway, you know the problems. How long do you wait before giving a refund to your customers? I have sent replacements a few times but I am rethinking that..since a customer claimed non receipt, I sent replacement, she claimed non receipt again. I refunded. I don't believe her but what can I do? Getting back to the original question: How long do you wait until you refund because of non delivery to the United States. Just curious....

Given the shipping method you are using there is little much you can do.

There are eBay users out there that TARGET sellers such as yourself because they know that they can get away with making false claims of NON-RECEIPT and that even if you refuse to REFUND - PAYPAL will decide in their favor because you will not be able to provide proof of shipment.

Therefore, so long as these types of cases are manageable and that you can continue to absurb the costs then I would say keep using your best judgement and refund when and where you feel it is appropriate or the best thing to do.

Also, I noticed that in your ads you mention that INSURANCE is included in the shipping costs.

Are you filing insurance claims with your shipper for the ones that have claimed NON-RECEIPT?

Also, the one that scammed two items out of you and claim NON-RECEIPT for both -- did you report them to eBay since this is a real obvious scammer.

Funny you should say that. I feel exactly that. Even though most ebayers are honest....there are those few.

Insurance is also on Me. Who do you know in shipping that will insure jewellery made of glass....any glass in fact? Of course when I describe my items for Customs, I don't use the word jewellery for obvious reasons. Larger orders go out in a couple of packages instead of one to cut my losses...just in case.

I used to visit casinos in the past but ebay and the post office have filled that need:^O

Shipping can be so very slow...especially to the western states. I wish it could be a common practice with ebay not to expect a refund until at least a month has passed.

Glass items are insured for loss by Canada Post. They are not insured for damage. Since your problem is lost packages, why not use their insurance??

Most of my shipments fall under Light Packages and they are shipped Air Mail. There is no insurance offered. If I choose Small Packages, Air Mail there is insurance for loss up to $100 ... but...it is more than 3 times the price. (Small Packages surface is more than 2 times the cost which equals more customers complaints of slow delivery) If I send out, lets say, 200 per month, it would cost $800 more per month. I'd pay that and still get only coverage for loss and not damage. I'd not get full benefit. Also, have you tried to collect from Canada Post? In my past experience, it is not worth the extra money or effort for no satisfaction or resolution.

You can call DSI Insurance, we use them for our more pricing items being shipped to USA.

Perhaps they can offer you a better solution.
