I also did drilling with diamond bits in the 70,s taking core samples ,those samples are very heavy they were 2 to 3 ft long of solid rock some very interesting colourfull pieces of solid rock of many colours and was interesting work too old to change bits and add sections to the rig but i used to like when it was slow drilling and only had to add pipe sections every half hr or so,but coming out of the hole and adding more sections was not fun when you were down hundreds of feet long hrs for sure
