when deciding to buy can sellers increase postive feedback themselves so you buy from them or is it legitimately from other buys. someome told me that sellers give all feedback to increase postive feedback.

Sellers are not able to give themselves feedback, that would defeat the purpose of a feedback system. If they buy an item, the seller can give positive feedback to them which would raise their positive feedback count.

If you click on an account's feedback number, there is a section entitled "Feedback as a Seller". Click on that and you can see only feedback that was left for the seller by other buyers.

I think you misunderstood your informant.

When a seller gives feedback (and we can only give positive feedback) it is our hope and belief that our buyers will reciprocate, that is, the buyer will do the same.

We can't leave feedback for ourselves.
