can someone sell an item not using ebay but use ebay motors trading assistant for payment plan

was wondering about buying  something that is not for sale on ebay but was told that we us ebay for payment plan is this possible

You are in contact with a SCAMMER who is trying to STEAL YOUR MONEY. There is no car and if you send this thief your money you will nit get a car and will never see your money again. Report this seller to whatever site you found the ad for the car.

Sometimes when a person inquires about a 'vehicle' at one of these other sites, the scammer sends very official looking email with the ebay logo and all.  These emails look very authentic, - so authentic that every now and then a person is reluctant to believe it is a complete fraud.  If you ever get one like that, you can forward the email to spoof@ebay.com and the folks there will tell you it is fake.

Ultimately, if you do not buy it from a listing on ebay, it has nothing to do with ebay.

There are, however, lots of legitimate items available on ebay, so why not have a look?  Or better yet, find a car/boat/tractor/whatever locally through the classifieds or a dealer lot where you touch it/sit in it/kick it before giving over your money.

When ebay started making it harder for Nigerian scammers to conduct their scams here, the scammers started going to other sites that do not police their users very carefully and telling potential victims that they will "complete" the transaction on ebay. That makes about as much sense as going to your local grocery store and having the cashier tell you to complete your transaction across the street that their competitor's store. This is exactly what the scammer hopes you will believe because you found them on another site and they're telling to you complete the fake transaction on ebay.

A word often used by scammers is "agent" or they'll say you can inspect the car and send it back if you are not satisfied and that ebay will hold your money. It's all lies. They use the ebay name because of it's reputation.

You have had prior successful transactions. With each one, there was an email from ebay telling you to avoid certain scams and trust you, this is one them.

By the way, the mentioning of Western Union by a seller means SCAM!!
