how do i do combined shipping with buy it now?

So I bought a pair of pants from a seller, and he says each additional item has free shipping. The problem is that the buyer must commit to pay in order to finish the buy it now transaction. I would like to buy more from him, but it is charging me shipping for each additional item. The seller is known for taking a long time to answer questions and I am afraid the original item I bought will be shipped before I figure this problem out. Thanks!!

What is a long time? This is Monday morning and it is quite possible the seller does not work weekends.

Wait until the seller responds. If he doesn't get back to you by this time tomorrow, in my opinion, making a second purchase would be foolish.
