how do i put a reserve on an item i am selling

read this

http://pages.ebay.ca/help/sell/reserve.html

something to keep in mind

some  buyers will not bid on reserve items unless they know what the reserve price is

they don't want to play the game

personally  I will use reserve at times (very rarely) If I want to make sure the item  wont go below what I need to get out of it but I place the reserve price in the auction description

that way one knows what the amount they  need to bid to realistically get it  and then can decide  whether it is what they want to spend as a minimum bid

if they don't know they may just pass and move onto items that give the minimum  price upfront

You can't do it after you have listed and

already have bids on the item.

Your opening price is a reserve.

No one can bid less than the opening price.

If you are worried about low early bids, don't . (Well, not too much.) Most bids arrive in the last few minutes of an auction. You may already have an electronic sniper set to swoop in the last few seconds with a 'take no prisoners' bid.

If you are really upset, you can cancel all your current bids (and never hear from those customers again), end the auction and start a new one with a more reasonable opening price.
