In your dreams. While it is possible to use this system, you should be aware that Canada Post (and other private shippers) will charge a substantial premium for it, since the chances of actually getting paid for their work is low.
You can,as a buyer, ask the seller if he will accept cash, money order or personal cheque. Again be aware, that all of these are less secure than PP and also slower.
The seller could refuse to admit recieving cash or money order. You would have to work with your bank if he cashes the cheque but does not ship, to get your money back.
Sending cash, MO or cheques, means your payment spends 10 days or more in the mail before delivery. Cheques will then take another 10 days or so to clear. With the exception of postal money orders, which can be cashed immediately at the post office, money orders also have to be deposited to a bank account and cleared.
A few sellers will take credit card numbers directly. Those sellers have been vetted by their own banks as secure receivers, so this is fast and safe.
There are a few services similar to Paypal and a few sellers are signed up with them. These services are secure for both buyer and seller.
As a buyer, PP is fast, especially if backed by a credit card rather than a bank account, free, and secure.
As a seller, PP is fast, no more expensive than other services including Moneris and secure.
