why does ebay.ca's countdown timer start at an hour or less compared to ebay.com wich starts 2hrs +?

Hi,Shane here.Why does ebay.ca's(Canada) countdown timer start at an hour, as opposed to ebay.com's countdown timer that starts at least a couple of of hours before the end of the auction?   THANKS SHANE
