Tracking Shows Arrived.. Then Departed?

Ever had this happen? You're tracking an item; it shows over the weekend that it has arrived in your city - horray! Monday morning comes and you check the tracking again to see if it's marked as out for delivery, but instead you see that the night before, it shipped out to a city in a different province? The expected delivery date has been updated to Tuesday now, instead of Monday. Does not makes sense why it would land at its destination and then up and move again, only to have to return right away all just to push back the delivery date and waste fuel.

This happened this morning to two of my packages (non Ebay, one coming from Amazon Canada, the other from Nordstrom Rack in the US).

I shop a lot online and have never noticed this before, any ideas?

It's called human error.

And it could be real or not.

Someone may have put your purchase on the wrong conveyor belt and it ended up in the wrong city, where the error was noticed and corrected.

OR

Someone may have typed the wrong information into a computer. When the actual parcel showed up in the right place, the error was corrected.

Stuff happens.

The best way to correct this problem is to note the date you expect the item on your calendar and Never Look At Tracking Again until that date has passed.
