Shipping and Customs for return?

I recently purchased a product that charged me shipping and custom fee of 60 USD which is a lot. Unfortunately the product didn't work so the seller and I agreed that I could get a refund on the product. My only concern is.. will i be able to get the 60USD from shipping and custom fee ?

Not from the seller. He never saw that money.

And not from Canadian Border Services. You didn't technically pay duty and sales tax, you paid Pitney Bowes, who run the GSP, a fee to handle that for you and they paid the duty and tax.

So what you have to do is file a Not As Described dispute with eBay/Paypal. Then PB will refund you your entire original payment.

This will give your seller a 'defect' on his selling record, which is unfortunate since he is willing to make things right for you.

Perhaps another poster can suggest a different type of Dispute that will not hurt the helpful seller.
