Additional Fedex Charges Issues

Old thread and this is directly to no one in particular.

 

As a buyer I do not purchase from companies that use FedEx, too often they will insist on a signature and when they can't get one it means driving to the closest depot. In City of Toronto traffic that can mean 30+ minutes each way.

 

Yes you can call and ask for a redelivery b ut if you are not home during the available delivery winndows that is no help at all.

 

Similar issues happen with Canada Post but in that case the "depot" is the local postal outlet which is usually within walking distance or a 5 minute drive.

Main problem to this whole Fedex mess is it was  released by eBay to Canadian sellers months ago...Closing in on a year. These issues, questions and concerns (working discounted calculator as an example) keep rearing their ugly head. Took em a year to acknowledge and fix fix.Strike that. The Fedex option for discounts is still not working. See attached.

Sellers had to do guessing games to figure out what rates to apply to their items or found out after the fact there were magical charges that appeared for home pick up and residential deliveries. Customs charges for processing? No answer to that 1 either. Unfortunately no one in the know has been able to ever follow up other than the we'll get back to you. Fedex does not work for me but may work for many others. (Like sellers selling heavier items so they prefer to offer Fedex ground or in cases of shipping to a business.)  If you're going to offer something have those answers when people need them. Don't leave them hanging.

PS. As a side to your choice as to not using sellers that use Fedex as an example. How do you really know what carrier a seller is going to use? As posted previously many sellers are still using generic terms for shipping. Then there are the US sellers that don't even specify because of eIS.

 

For what my opinion is worth buyers should know how something is going to be shipped vs this new version of surprise!!! Sorry, you weren't home all day when no one rang door bell...XYZ left package on front step in full view and now it's walked away. Too bad. So sad!!! Better luck next time!!! Please feel free to re-order and hope for the best.
