False defected item claim by buyer

You sold an item.

The buyer claims the item is Not As Described.

You disagree with the dispute.

Tell the buyer to return the item  for a refund.

If he wants a partial refund : Tell the buyer to return the item  for a refund.

If he threatens* bad feedback:  Tell the buyer to return the item  for a refund.

If he threatens to open a Dispute:  Tell the buyer to return the item  for a refund.

If he opens a Dispute, you will probably be required to send him return shipping.

Is he in Canada - you can send a return shipping label from Canada Post

If he is the USA- you can send a return shipping label for the USPS** through Shippo.com.

You can have a No Returns policy, but you cannot have a No Refunds policy.

Even if you have a No Returns policy, you can demand a return before refunding.

When (and IF) the item is returned, you refund.

  • If he doesn't return the item, you do not refund.

Then you put him on your Blocked Bidder List, check to see if his complaint was accurate and adjust your description if so, and relist.

It's not personal, it's business.

Have you never returned a purchase to a store?

In my opinion, a No Returns policy is more likely to trigger a Not As Described dispute than a polite discussion of the problem.

If you are having a problem explaining the situation in English, write in your own first language.  Someone here will probably be able to understand.

*And keep that threat. This is Feedback Extortion and eBay will remove the FB and may give the buyer a Defect on his account.

**You will need this.
