If you are registered in Canada you will need a Managed Payments account to get paid.
This in return, requires a chequing account with a Canadian bank.
But the account can be held in USD or in loonies.
Your choice is going to be permanent.
Your longtime account might be switched to a Canada based one, but I would suggest that you contact eBay's social media reps (NOT THE PHONES!) and ask for a Managed Payments specialist.
Your first question should be about their familiarity with Canadian banks. As a test, ask if the Tangerine problem has been solved.
(Don't use Tangerine, because it hasn't).
The phone reps have a terrible reputation for getting you off the phone as soon as possible even if that mean giving you the advice you want to hear instead of the advice you need to have.

When I was switching my USD listings from dotCA to dotCOM, I just did a dozen or two a day, until they were all switched over. But then Paypal accepted both currencies so that was not a problem.
I did have to make new scans. Since then I save all my scans,as well as my descriptions, in a desktop file.
