At what dollar value do buyers start to pay duties on items going Canada To the US?

I ship Canada to US mostly.  I have never had anyone saying they paid duties going over the border while using both Fedex and Canada Post. Most orders are under  200.00 US. Have a 500.00US order, but am leary as I don't know when duties kick in? Does anyone here know?

It is the Buyer/importer's duty to know what the import fees for his own country are.

If a shipment is returned as Undeliverable, for example because the buyer refused to pay import fees, eBay does not require the seller to refund anything.

That being said, @marnotom!  is right.

US $800.00 for duties.

For what it’s worth, eBay charges and collects state and local taxes from US buyers at Checkout, so you shouldn’t see any post-delivery complaints about taxes, either.
