Yes, I was using Adcommerce up to today when I got the email from them saying that they were discontinuing it. For those who did not know about it, THIS Adcommerce was ads placed on eBay that link directly to your website store. (pretty cool idea, I thought).

I ended all my ads today when I got the email notice (Jan. is typically a slow month anyway, and I was tired of paying ebay all that $ anyway). Overall in the last 6 months I spent $1108.49 on Adcommerce, with 11945529 impressions, and 10,089 clicks.

I would also like to know what other advertising people find helpful (especially like Adcommerce, which was for website advertising). Maybe not a suitable forum here for that discussion, but if you have any ideas I'd like to hear 'em, even if you want to just email me.

Cheers,
AXE

I'd be interested in any comments or suggestions too.

Me too!

At this point the only thing I think makes any difference is to have a ZILLION items or to have 1 item times a ZILLION listed.

I've done some experiments and watching and:
- if I can get a lot of people to look at a listing, it shows early
- If I can get a lot of people to look at a listing and the odd one to buy it it shows really early
- if I sell something of mine like a Japan batch of stamps, other Japan listings with very close titles will also sell, meaning that likely it is favouring other titles with similar names (which really seems to go against the no duplicates idea but anyway).
- I've had small items with an item count of greater than one just fly out once the first couple are bought, when I was able to check after a couple sold they also showed really early.

Unfortunately my problem is I don't have time to list a ZILLION items and the kind of stuff I sell is "unique" each time so I don't have any one thing times a ZILLION.

I'm trying an experiment with a "you are buying 1000 stamps out of a hoard of millions" x a large number, but I am exceptionally nervous about bad ratings on "Item as described" because someone will think they are getting a million stamps for $14.91 and I usually already run close to the wire in that area because of people who don't read my listings. That particular experiment has gone well in terms of staying up early, as long as I don't suffer from low ratings it may be ok. My real intent is to get people to go into that listing and then buy one of the ones they can see, but it is very hard to know if it is happening, I think it is but it could also be coincidence...

I suspect if I forked out $$ to direct people from Googleland to my store it would work but I really have a principle type issue with me spending money to bring people to my eBay store so I can pay the additional ebay fees!!

I am for certain interested in anything else anyone is doing that is working.

PS I for sure have noticed a negative sales impact since October when they stopped favouring items that are newly listed.
