Hi
Candle holders received safely, but I must re-iterate that the shipping costs
were far to high.
Original combined shipping & handling charge was US$42. Had refund of US$4.
Shipping costs were US$28.50 plus your US$5 handling chargeof US$5 = US$32.50
The amount of packaging was way over the top and a box half the size could have
been used.
For similar items from the States and Canada, I have only paid US$18 top
popstage.
I have spoken to quite a few of your successful customers and most of them say
the same thing.
1/ You are a very slow shipper and your shipping costs are to high.
2/ Chinaware is not your usual sale items.
3/ One or two buyers have had refunds on shipping costs.
4/ Not happy with an automated answer. Very difficult to get through to person.
5/ Always blaming US customs for delays.

Ok my question is this ??? I was under the impression bidders are not alowed to contact my past customer ???

I don't believe eBay has any policies about contacting previous buyers. They *do* have policies regarding off-site transactions & transaction interference.

I think what your customer is/was doing is perfectly legal. It's no different then talking to another customer at Canadian Tire's Customer Service line, in my opinion.

I know you can't advertise in feedback "contact me for more information about this person" but the actual act of contacting past buyers is fine. It's like calling around, asking for references.

I don't know how accurate the buyer's market research is but, if it is, it may have some value. It seems to me that most of us could benefit from genuine market feedback, good or bad, from our buyers independent of the current public feedback system and its constraints.

It would be cool if a questionaire were made available our buyers to more accurately shed light on their needs. The primary gender, age group, and general preferences could more acurately help us target our respective dempgraphic/psychographic markets.

My guess is that he's bluffing. Trying to give you a hard time. I think he may have just sifted through your feedback and picked up a couple things that he mentinoed in his letter to you. If he was going to email buyers you can bet he wasn't going to emnail buyers that left you a positive so it wouldn't really make a difference anyway.

If an ebayer did write "contact me for more info about this person" in someone's feedback, do you know if it's grounds for removal by eBay?

Yes, according to the eBay feedback removal policy.

That feedback removal policy doesn't say that the feedback can be removed for this.

It does say that "strong language" such as "scam artist, con man, etc." is STRONGLY DISCOURAGED but WILL NOT BE REMOVED.

Heh. I wonder how they "strongly discourage" it? 😛
