Cannot list new items

I am trying to list a new item. About half-way through the process, the screen hangs, if I try to SAVE FOR LATER, it goes to "encountered problem", screen reverts to a sign-in screen requesting an sign-in code. I had a code texted to me from EBay but it does not work when I enter it.
