Choosing listing currency - can't change it without recreating the listing.

Weird, but you cannot change the listing currency while creating a listing unless you do it at the very beginning.  You can change anything else but not that.

I wonder if there is a reason for this?

Obviously changing the currency once the listing has been up for more than a few minutes would tempt some people to play games, but we're not talking about that.

You cannot change currency in an active listing. Always been like that. You have to end the listings and use Sell Similar to change the currency. If I remember correctly, relist will not allow changing currency, only Sell Similar.

A listing that was ended  was put through the process of changing the selling currency... from US to Canadian dollars

The procedure to relist the ended listing was followed ... but before doing so  the selling currency was changed from US to Canadian dollars.

The listing was previewed before submission to eBay and it was in Canadian dollars..

Submitted the listing to eBay and the selling currency was now in Canadian dollars....

Immediately ended this unwanted listing

Ending a listing and then relisting it worked....

The old listing was in US dollars, while the new listing was in Canadian dollars...

Just had to see if it worked...  and it appeared to work.

The only way to change the selling currency from US to Canadian dollars  was to end the listing and relist after changing currency from US to Canadian dollars.

One cannot revise an active listing...    as this option is blocked in an active listing..

Make sure you double check all your listings before clicking the list your item button. We almost lost $330 on an $800 listing that snuck through in CDN instead of US$. We also would have taken another $18 hit on the shipping. Fortunately we noticed it in time and ended it picking the option of the listing had an error, which it did. It had 28 watchers.

The worst thing was it was originally on a promo listing that capped the final value fee at $10 so we ended up losing $70 US in FVF when it sold a few days later for $800 US.

Just can't win.
