Ebay vs. own website selling

Hi, everyone, new kids on the block. 3 questions: 1) How can we see the US powersellers discussion board? 2) Anyone of you also have your own website selling products and merchant account? How is it compared to ebay? The ebay fees and paypal fees are eating a big chunk of profit. 3) Can we open a store on ebay.com instead of ebay.ca? We were told by a CSR we need to have a US credit card. Is it the same procedure? Thanks!

Welcome. Angelo pretty well summed up everything.

You are right about the eBay and PayPal fees eating alot of the profit. Last year's hike really hit us as we often use a reserve and BIN for our listings which is exactly where the biggest fee hikes went in.

eBay was no longer satisfied in profiting from sales, rather decided to get more at the front end regardless of whether your items sold or not.

It meant we had to rethink marketing high ticket items.

You may want to relook at how you are listing to save although I looked at your listings and you are listing the same as we do with multiple items using a BIN.

I believe that you are using eBay to host your pics and template, so you may want to consider a 3rd party for less money and more options. We do our own so we dont have any 3rd party costs.

Other than that, the store is probably the best idea. We are going to do the same starting later this week.

Our ad blocker blocked everthing on the right hand side. Can someone please tell us what those red squares are. Many thanks!
