How can an auction end prior to it's alotted time..... when you have bid on this item?

Went to check on an item (ring), it was to end in 24hrs. I was highly interested and had a previous bid. This item was listed ENDED. I was very disappointed and was questioning why it could be unlisted. Sent message to seller, no reply as of yet.

Sellers can cancel a listing (explanation in listing bid history) or cancel to sell to highest bidder or ebay can remove a listing for a policy violation.

If the seller is cancelling the auction, but does not cancel the bids first, the item is deemed to be sold to the high bidder at the price current at the time of the cancellation.

Sellers sometimes cancel because the item has become damaged, or sold elsewhere, or was mis-descibed. Description errors can include errors in pricing.

EBay cancels fraudulent listings that have been reported to them.

A Buy It Now option allows the seller to accept an offer that ends the auction. Same with a Best Offer option.
