How to sell with LOCAL PICKUP as only option for shipping/ delivery.

Hey, haven't sold for some time, have never sold with pickup. Searched help and board topics, the only info I found useful was a warning that Paypal could hold funds for 21 days on a local pickup.

I want to sell a collection that cannot be shipped, must be picked up. Can I do this?

Do I have to offer Paypal as payment?

What is acceptable proof of delivery for eBay and/or Paypal on a pickup? Buyer signature on a receipt?

Last  of my selling experience, Paypal seemed to be the only allowable payment method, and acted as final arbitrator on all matters re delivery and validity.

Appreciate any help.

A local pickup is payment in cash when the item is picked up.

If Paypal is used... buyer goes home ...  files a non-receipt on Paypal, .... and you have no record that a payment was received.

Buyer gets his money back....

Your listing must state local pickup only... with no shipping costs indicated.

Local Pick UP is an available option use that and nothing else.

You still have to offer PayPal although you can also (eBay legal) accept cash at pick-up.

Cash is obviously preferable to PayPal because of the fees but there is NO Buyer Protection available for orders that are picked-up, you do not need ANY type of proof of delivery.

The Paypal User agreement states that pick up's are ineligible for Paypal Purchase Protection so in theory the seller shouldn't need protection in that situation.

13.3 Ineligible Items.

'"Items which you collect in person, or arrange to be collected on your behalf, including at the retail point of sale"

eBay charges you FVF regardless.  The fees are charged to your sellers account.

You can pay eBay through PayPal or with a credit card.  eBay charges monthly based on the payment method you have already selected when you created your eBay seller account.

On a $3.00 sale, the FVF will be $0.30
