Put my soul at ease.... when should I receive my item?

I feel like I have total OCD here right now. The item I ordered is actually a custom-made hockey jersey for my favorite band. I don't even know if it turned out the way I want it.

First of all, customizing my product took extra time according to the seller due to having to temporarily close factories in his state, Washington. Then after he finally shipped my item, the package was sent back to him a week later for being "overweight". He shipped it again exactly one week ago.

I am in Alberta, Canada. He is in Washington State. It's holiday season sure, but should it be taking this long?

Package is USPS First Class. I am aware that they don't always update the tracking for First Class, so I'm probably just being paranoid. Last scan on USPS.com was:

December 4, 2014 , 11:47 pm

Departed USPS Origin Facility

KENT, WA 9*****

On canadapost it says:

2014/12/0412:319*****,USAInternational item mailed in originating country

Does everything look/sound alright here? I'm pretty much biting my nails..... any idea when I should receive this? I'm hoping tomorrow, as Fridays are always big package days around here to begin with.

Put my soul at ease.... when should I receive my item?

USPS.com seems to provide a lot of information on my First Class package, as compared to CanadaPost.ca.

Although not sure why mines went from Orlando Florida to New York (back) to Miami Florida then back to right direction to Toronto (not exactly efficient here)...  But the point is I got detailed tracking regularly.

It is odd that you have no update since Dec 4?!?!

He sent it with Delivery Confirmation. Which is NOT tracking.

USPS has received it, because it is in their system.

Canada Post has received it , because it is in their system.

Normally, shipment from the USA arrive within 20 days of shipment, there could be a delay due to holiday rush, but Canada Post is paying more attention to parcels, since they seem to understand that delivering stuff ordered online is their future.

At worst, it will probably arrive on Christmas Eve.

More likely it will arrive a few days earlier.

What is the seller's feedback like, total, positive, negative, etc. What is his shipping star like?

Everything seems to be about 100%.

BTW, the reason he originally delayed my product and closed factory was due to bad weather in Washington State, according to him.

There is nothing more you can do but do not let it go past 30 days from last estimated delivery day. You may or may not get it by Xmas.

When did you originally pay for this item?

I paid on Nov 16.

I'm not too worried about the seller ripping me off.... but the tracking is bothersome.

It's First Class Mail International though, and I've heard that USPS rarely updates the tracking on that. I've heard of people getting their packages with little or no updates.

But for those who know anything about the First Class Mail issue, is it also normal for tracking not to show up on Canadapost?

I would not let it go past Dec 20 to open a claim to protect yourself. The seller will still have some time after that to get delivery to you. His delays may be understandable, but not your fault or responsibility, especially wrong postage. I wonder as well how he can send a jersey 1st class mail and then get postage wrong.  Good luck and hopefully it will get to you.

Keep in mind, the deadlines are not based on his last mailing date, but date of your payment and original delivery date

Thanks for the Info.

I'm just trying to find out now if it's normal for tracking not to show up in Canadapost, as well as USPS. I've heard conflicting things regarding this.

Should or should not tracking begin to show up on Canadapost once the item enters customs there? Is it all a gamble because it's USPS First Class?

If I remember correctly, tracking from the US to Can changes to express post here so it is trackable in Canada. I am not sure if letter mail falls into that category. You could call Canada Post tomorrow and they could get you a better answer to that..

Thank you for the Kudo

I wouldn't worry, it's in the system.

If the tracking is working well, you can be updated by email from USPS and Canada Post after you subscribe on their sites.

I'm near Vancouver, BC, so my USPS FCMI packages from the US have taken 8-11 calendar days to arrive with very good tracking.

It might be slower this time of year, but a recent package from Portland , Oregon, took 6 days with USPS Priority shipping .

There has been a lot of flooding here on the west coast recently that might have delayed things.

My USPS packages' tracking have all shown up when they arrive in Canada, then they have been tracked through customs on to delivery.
USPS FCMI is probably the best for the cost and has been consistently dependable on anything purchased here.

Amazon recently delivered in 2 days from Mississauga, Ontario. I asked for Standard Shipping, but it was Expedited.

A couple GSP items took 15 days, both opened and repackaged.

Thanks.

Either way I'm hoping to have it tomorrow maybe. It's been over a week, and my packages lately have been taking less than that to reach me. A lot of packages also seem to arrive on Friday around here. So wish me luck tomorrow.

If not, there may be weekend delivery too as there was last weekend around here.

Canada Post may not have received it yet, usually they state they have it after it has been cleared with Canadian Customs.

CP has been notified by USPS that your package has been sent by the seller, so it's in the system.

That's how it has worked for me, anyways.
