selling options

AUCTION

  • Not as popular with buyers as it used to be
  • Used mostly be new sellers
  • Start at a price where you would be comfortable selling
  • use the 7 day option
  • Relist when it doesn't sell to Fixed Price/ Good Til Cancelled

RESERVE PRICE

  • Buyers hate these and will backbutton away rather than play games
  • All opening prices are in effect Reserves since no one can bid less
  • Start at a price where you would be comfortable selling
  • Expect to get questions about what your Reserve is. In fact, put your reserve in your listing.
  • You will pay a non-refundable fee for using Reserve even when the item does not sell.

BUY IT NOW/FIXED PRICE

  • Use 30 day listings at first.
  • Use Good Til Cancelled to save labour when you have some experience and tweaked your descriptions, titles and photos.
  • Most bids will arrive immediately or on the last day of the listing. Or anytime in between
  • Most listings are BIN.
  • You can add a Best Offer option. You don't have to accept any offer.

SELL WHAT YOU KNOW; KNOW WHAT YOU SELL

Use metric measurements for shipping calculations.Canada Post went metric in 1974 and every other system is approximate.

Don't ship internationally yet. When you do, don't use Surface shipping.
