unable to log out of my account

Try closing your computer and restarting it.

EBay seems to have had a worldwide attack around 3pm EDT which was basically corrected by 6 pm.

I have no idea what happened but I don't think that it should be called an attack unless you know that it was for sure. Maybe it was an attack but unless we know for sure calling it that is just spreading an unfounded rumour and I don't think that we need any of those here. The main problem seemed to be with the search function as I could get to my ebay/selling manager and was able to work on my active and sold items without any problems. It's  possible that they are doing some upgrades to the search function and that something went wrong.
