Fees with the new Mahaged Payments?

Hello,

I sold my first item under the MP system today, and I can't understand how the fee is calculated.

The item was listed on ebay.ca and sold to a US (NJ) customer, so I was expecting %12.35 + %0.4 + $0.30, but was charged about %14.3 + $0.30 ...

Is there another fee I'm missing?

Thank you!

Fees with the new Mahaged Payments?

Thank you, I didn't know sales tax was included in the calculation.

But even taking this into account, I'm being charged about $1 more.

Customer service chat was completely unhelpful.

I guess there's no way to show what the fee includes?

What is the total amount of the sale including Sales Tax?

You can find a detailed breakdown of the fees here:

Seller Hub->All Transactions-> click on the Transaction Details

The total amount the fees are calculated on would be the same as the Total shown in the International fee section of the fee breakdown. Transaction Details is also the only place you can see the GST/HST charged on the fees (in the other places the fees and tax (GST/HST) are rolled into one number).

You are probably not accounting for New Jersey Sales Tax. The current rate is 6.625% although there may be local differences.

Fees are charged on the total of the item, shipping and tax, which I estimate is $172.12.

I logged into my ebay.com acoount - and it does show that sales tax was charged.

On ebay.ca - it doesn't show it - only my item price and shipping.

Older transactions, before MP, show me the full charge to the buyer, including tax.

Thank you so much! Now I can see the breakdown.

I ship using netparcel/payapal, so I never used the seller hub before...

One would think the customer support rep could have pointed me there, but they were just as confused as I was.

Thanks again for ponting me in the right direction!

Now to hope and pray the payment actualy makes it to my bank account...

Any chance the NJ address is a freight forwarder? If the buyer used a forwarder I believe the 1.65 International fee would apply instead of the 0.40 for U.S.

Most of the forwarders have moved or moved their ship to location down the road to Delaware so they can avoid the entire sales tax thing. I have not seen any from NY or CA for about a year, everything going to OR and DE these days. Still have some from FL but they don't have a marketplace facilitator law (YET! they will in a few months).

Not a forwarder.

I just didn't know what to expect with the managed payments...

There was a sales tax which didn't show in the "sale confirmed" email, so the total was higher, and then there was tax added to all the ebay fees.

I was expecting a "simple" %12.35 fee, so was trying to understand what's going on.
