MANAGED PAYMENTS SIGN-UP

I would like to sell casually on eBay and I'm wondering about Signing up for Managed Payments.

My eBay Acount has First Name, Middle Intial and Last Name.

The chequing account I got for Managed Payments is from Scotia Bank and has Mr First Name, Last Name.

Does the account names have to match exactly?

I believe first and last name have to match as per the link below...It doesn't mention middle initial so I'm not sure if one has it and one doesn't what will happen. You might be better off asking ebay directly unless someone here has an initial on one and not on the other and it worked for them and they can let you know here.

You will also need a secondary ID. While eBay requests our SIN, we are not required to supply that.

I used my passport while DH used his driving license.

So there's yet another version of your name.

Should I delete the Middle Intial from my eBay profile? and just have First Name, Last Name?

My licence has Last Name, First Name then Middle Initial.

@silverdreamfilm

The most important thing seems to be that your bank account and registered eBay name should match. If they do not, that is when issues seem to come up.

So I should delete the Middle Intial from my eBay profile? and just have First Name, Last Name?

Bank Account: Mr First Name, Last Name

eBay Account: First Name, Last Name (delete middle intial)

Are you using your existing main account? A lot of sellers set up a free chequing account from a bank like tangerine, etc. and you can set it up without an initial.

Although I don't know about the initial and/or lack of it, I do know that the "Mr. " will have no affect...Scotia bank has this policy about the "Mr./Mrs." part which was also applied to my Scotia chequing account for eBay, and that is not on my eBay account>>>there were no issues for signing up for Managed Payments.

If you can delete the initial that should solve the unknown of if it would cause an issue or not. That way you don't have to deal with the issue if it does cause a problem.

Thanks everyone for your insight.... I set-up my account with a Managed Payments Specialist and it went well but it says I have to update my bank info with two micro-deposits which have not been deposited into my account yet.

Is it because it's Sunday from a banking and eBay perspective? One of the Reps said it could take up to 3 days for the deposits to appear... Does anyone have any experience with these miccro-deposits?

Yeah it could take a few days. They will be two deposits in $0.0? with the ? mark being a single digit of course. When they are deposited just come back here and enter them in the form and it will instantly confirm they are correct. Then a few days after you enter the micro-payments they will withdraw them.

Thank you... I will check daily for the deposits. It's alittle annoying that eBay keeps messaging me (2x now) about updating my account info when I'm waiting for their deposits.
