Any idea for a postal meter? I am sick of stamps.

Postal metres are not cheap, I do not believe. Use Paypal Shipping. It is free and easy. Discounts on upgraded services.

Re: Postal Meter Recommendation?

Why would you pay a premium for metered postage when Paypal shipping labels are not only free but offer discounts on many postal services?

Re: Postal Meter Recommendation?

But PayPal shipping doesn't allow for printing of regular 85 cent stamps or oversize $1.80? Of which is 95% of my volume.

" I am sick of stamps."

????

What am I missing?

Postage stamps can be purchased at full face value from the post office or at discount from many sellers (mostly stamp dealers liquidating excess inventory)

Using a postage meter (the largest supplier is Pitney Bowes to answer your question) may save five cents per domestic letter (under 30 grams) but typically costs a monthly fee to lease or rent.  Unless you mail thousands of letters every month, it is not worth it.

Re: Postal Meter Recommendation?

Thanks everyone for your input.

Here's an update: I went with Pitney Bowes for a meter. With the discount for buying stamps, I ended up paying $16 for the lease of the unit over 1 year.

The contract is 1 year.

I had to prepay for $400 to get a credit of $200. $400 of postage cost me $200.

The unit is $17.99 per month = $216

- $200 credit

= $16 for the year.

I would have continued buying stamps from pierre but he retired, and I couldn't find an alternative.

Thanks pierre, I enjoyed your service while it was available.

Effective 2015 January 12:

- metered lettermail increases from 0.75 to 0.77 and from 1.60 to 1.65

- stamps remain unchanged at 0.85 and 1.80 for those weights
