Searching for Stores, Sellers with Advanced Search

Anyone else seeing similar when they attempt a search for a seller or store in advanced search(ca & com)?

Server errors? Unable to locate site?

The dropdown by preferred location shows USA Only + N. America x 2, Europe and Asia for options. Was Canada included in the past or only available with a separate search?

When I search on .ca I get those same 'bad' results. But .com advanced searches seem to work fine.

I don't think that Canada was in that preferred list on .com but I 'think' that it was an option on .ca although it isn't now.   I thought it was the default on .ca but I don't use advanced often so my memory might be off.

It's odd that .ca searches are coming up with a .com error url.

The problems "seem" to be mostly on the dot ca side but not 100%. I noticed that too about the com error url coming up. Weird results when you switch a listing url to dot com or to dot ca. Very hit and miss.

Hard to tell where sympatico starts and ends. The worry is how long has this been an issue and is it affecting traffic/views?

The person I talked to on ebay chat said they had no clue what the problem is and it is very weird but it is my isp fault because they mirror logged in on my account on ebay . ca and had no problem seeing listings . So ya who knows how long it will take for them to even admit there is an error on ebay side first .

DOTca advanced search (classic view) on my tablet is functioning normally here, I encoountered no errors using a variety of different selections . Canada is still shown as the default preferred location, the other 2 choices are Worldwide and North America .... seems to me it's been like that for a long time.

It is now. When I checked earlier I checked both .com and .ca and I'm fairly sure that when I checked .ca advanced search screen, the US was showing as the default.  Or, I was just temporarily lost. 🙂

I still can't search for a specific seller on the .ca advanced search. When I search your name on .ca I get the 'we looked everywhere' page. When I search it on .com it brings me to your listings.

Hmm... At the moment with DOTca advanced search, if I do not enter a key word at the top of the page, it returns the we looked everywhere page even when I have "only show items from" checked and enter pjcdn2005. When I enter a key word such as "coin" it returns 3 pjcdn2005 listings.

Currently there must be a key word or item number entered, otherwise I get the we looked everywhere page. I'm not sure if it has always worked like that or not.

From the More Wacky eBay Links on the Fritz © department when you click on eBay eBucks link it brings you to the sign in screen but does not allow you to sign in. It just loops back to sign in screen.  eBucks works fine on dot com.

In testing some older saved eBay links, they are no longer working and default to Seller Overview page. (dot ca)

All of the links you posted are routed through ebay Germany (DE) instead of

https://www.ebay.ca/sch/ebayadvsearch

So that explains the preferred location issue.

...

When searching for a specfic seller I get an error message if I leave the keywords empty.

If I put in a single " " I get proper results (since most titles contain blank spaces).

Sounds like a programmer screwed up, since it did work in the past for empty searches....

Multiple dot ca links not working or directing you to alternative eBay locations for the past week. eBucks link is still looping to sign on page but won't allow signing on. Also see post 10 from @ypdc_dennis .

The variety of recently reported  issues inter-connected to search "could" be potentially affecting dot ca sellers and their ability to sell. According to the eBay dot ca status page everything running smoothly.

@lotzofuniquegoodies

I have no problem finding the eBucks code (using a computer).

eBucks: https://reward.ebay.ca/rwdwebui/bucks/myebay/main

The link in my eBucks email message takes me to the ebay website to spend some eBucks. Encountered no problems, but I was already signed in when checking.

I am working off the eBucks link from Purchase page.

https://reward.ebay.ca/rwdwebui/bucks/myebay/main

It still is linking me to sign in when I am already signed in and just loops. To the casual eye many of the currently reported link issues are very random. The other observation is many of these links work fine on dot com but NOT on dot ca. They shouldn't really be hit or miss, trial and error or directing you off to Germany.

PC. Also on a PC using Firefox.

@ypdc_dennis - this one has been driving me batty! Thanks for your help with the workaround. I'll get you added to the open ticket.
