Trading card dealers

Anyone here a dealer in trading cards such as hockey and Magic: The gathering cards?

My best friend inherited several boxes of trading cards such as about 400-600 Magic: The Gathering cards dated '93, '94, '95, with quite a few silver and gold cards.

He also has a Wayne Gretzky 1980 5x7 card #7 in a series of 24.

I am wondering if there's a dealer here who might be able to give a value or an idea of the value if I sent him some scans of the cards. The local dealers aorund here are scammers and would offer 2-5 bucks for a card worth several hundred or more.

It's not the 5x7 though. A google search turned up the same card as my friend's with a value of $2500 with a grade of 10. But a local dealer said naw, it's only worth 10 bux, even though it looks mint and has been in a plastic sleeve. My friend thinks the dealer is trying to low-value it so he could buy it for himself (He has a rep for that).

Yep, that's the card my friend has. Which is why we wouldn't believe the dealer when he said it was worth only 10 bucks.

He has other hockey cards and wants to sell them but wants fair prices for them. He definitely wants to sell the Magic: The Gathering cards as well.

We just don't know of any reputable dealers here in London we could go to that may give us fair prices.

Re: Trading card dealers

Whoever wrote that article and said that card was worth $2,453.00 has about

knowledge about hockey cards as your friend has.

I don't know where he got the idea that there was only 24 of these made.

The PSA 10 graded card might be worth about $100.00 tops.

There has been several ungraded of these cards sold in the last

while for $25.00 or less.

In fact one seller sold 3 complete sets of 24 for $19.99 each.
