eBay introducing a more streamlined after-sale experience

From the Announcement Board on eBay.com today:

Starting today, eBay will begin introducing a more streamlined after-sale experience that makes it easier and more efficient than ever to access and manage activities like returns, cancellations, questions, and more. By the end of September, this new experience will be available to all eligible buyers and sellers on eBay—and on mobile devices starting in mid-October. -

"sellers will receive added protection from inadvertent defects with a number of built-in safeguards." Good morning. That part at least sounds good.

That is true.

However, and it is important to note that many of the eBay policies apply based on the site where the purchase was made, NOT where the seller was listing the item, irrelevant of the nationality or location of the buyer or where the seller or buyer were registered.

So, in many instances, a Canadian buyer purchasing from a Canadian seller an item listed on eBay.ca may be subject to the policy applicable on eBay.com if the purchase was made on eBay.com.

This is one important distinction that has never been fully explained or answered by staffers on eBay.ca.
