Is a seller allowed to leave a negative feedback message as a positive for a buyer?

Is a seller allowed to leave a negative feedback message as a positive for a buyer?  I didn't think it was allowed.  Is there a way to have it removed? Had a seller leave that for me as a retalitory comment for me leaving a negative for her. I rarely have left negatives but in a few instances it was warranted. Tried to make contact to resolve the issue but no help from seller.

No.  Call eBay and they'll remove it.      You'll retain your FB score but there will be a blank where the message was and  some notification that the FB was removed.

Would be better if they removed the whole thing but they only remove the comment.

They only remove the comment. The buyer retains the positive feedback.

Buyers who see such removed comments when researching sellers (look under Feedback Left for Others) should be aware that the seller is not going to be easy to deal with, especially if there is any problem with the transaction.

BTW-- this is also why it is not a good idea to buy and sell on the same account.

Hi @2nd-time-around-jewelry  - as others have mentioned, a seller leaving a 'false positive' for a buyer is inappropriate and not in keeping with our guidelines.

You can contact CS to have it reviewed for removal. I've also gotten it reported for review too, so check your profile and maybe save a call. 😉

Now that the original comment has been removed you might consider revising your follow up comment (if you can) because buyers viewing your FB at a glance may conclude that ""Paid immediately, poor packaging, jewelry thrown in box, huge tangled mess"" is FB from a buyer reviewing you as a seller.

Thank you so much for your help. Saved me a phone call. Now how do I remove my comment made underneath the seller's? Thought both comments would be gone.

You are right. My comment doesn't look good if taken out of context. People might think a buyer left that for me. But not sure how to go about getting it removed.

Hi @2nd-time-around-jewelry - Unless your comment violated feedback rules, they'd leave it.

I'd suggest contacting CS on this one - explain the situation to the specialist and request that they redact the comment. I can't guarantee that it would work, but it's worth a shot!
