Has anyone recently been assigning Fedex and UPS to their listings for shipping in Canada? Are the charges processing as they were created? Higher or lower or bang on? How has processing time been? I have noticed that for some shipments price quoted has been better than the CP option? Disclaimer. Couriers can have more challenges like not being able to deliver to PO box or secure building.

If you chose not to use a shipping label that you printed due to an error in it and print a new one will you be billed for the first one too? Or are they only billed once you get them scanned at the post office. If you don't use a label do you need to seek a refund or is it just not billed in the first place?

An FYI for anyone this applies to.   eBay has a lock you can put on payouts. Unfortunately at their discretion(eBay) can override and force a payout. Was waiting on charges for several postage charges from early Sept to come through. A few have already been delivered and the rest are in limbo, held up with the mail strike. This morning got a notice that payout had been forced. In confirming my settings the tab is still locked off. From a sellers perspective this IS the only way to hold funds. Made even more challenging not knowing when having consistent sales will be a thing. Because there is no consistency with CP label processing, afraid to imagine what others are up against with UPS/Fedex and duty chargebacks or returns and their schedule for payment processing. Just not a fan of willy nilly charges to my bank account.  I currently have 1 order to ship with no method withing eBay for shipment. All CP options have been deactivated. Nothing displays for UPS or Fedex even if I wanted to ship that way. Having choice should NOT be a bad thing!!!!   Disclaimer: Your situation may vary so this topic may not be applicable or a concern.   @devon@ebay     PS. Recently, i shipped a pallet of product to the U.S. and it is FAR harder than before. Prior to Trump, we could ship items on this way on code 321 if you were under $800, easy. Not now. Homeland Security wants you to join a system to ensure you aren't a terrorist. Brokerage and reams of paperwork are needed. Worst of all, paypal can bring in some kind of security check and lock up money for 21 days, in addition, they can force you to deposit the fund in your bank BEFORE sending them on to a third party instead of being able to do a payment directly from paypal funds, which means if you are dealing with Canadian funds, you are subject to TWO conversion costs plus the paypal fee, if any. And to top it off, the flunkies you get when you call paypal cannot provide ANY concrete reason as to why this is happening.

CPSC rules, starting July 8th, will require not only new, but also used toys to e-file a safety certificate when designed for Children under 13. Straight from the CPSC Website: Q. Does eFiling apply to used products that were manufactured after a CPSC rule, ban, or standard went into effect? A. Yes. If a used product was manufactured after the effective date of a CPSC rule, ban or standard, a certificate is required and if the product is imported as part of a commercial transaction, eFiling also applies. Commercial transactions include, but are not limited to, business-to-business, business-to-consumer and consumer-to-consumer sales. If a product was previously required to be certified, pursuant to the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 or the CPSC implementing regulation, importers must continue to provide the required certificate information through eFiling. Some mumbling about couriers requiring the documentation already, although not required yet. I believe made before 2008 will get through OK but should be labelled accordingly. Will be messy either way.

Regularly I get notified on items I should Promote , Items where my price is a percentage higher than others and today if I'm understanding their message, "your listing is being changed in to an Auction from a Buy It Now" because of my sending out an Offer which they suggested. Well, changed or not, it no longer exists. I'm not aware eBay can change the format of clients' listings. Sell, win or lose, objectives between Seller and eBay can conflict.

So I was posting a listing for a Pokemon card yesterday and noticed when I got to the end of the listing it was asking for a Children's Certificate of Conformity as a normal toy would.. I can however find no information online pertaining to if pokemon cards (or TCG cards in general) fall under the CPSC need to provide a Children's Certificate of Conformity.. moreover I started trying to look for some of these Certificates online at any of the large manufacturers and only LEGO from what I can tell has the documentation online. Was this added as eBay has TCG cards under the "toys" category and they just opened the Cert upload tab for everything in the category? At that point after reading that if the Cert was missing americans won't be able to buy it or it'll be hidden I was like "fine, americans won't see any of the few toys I have online".. but I do sell more then a few pokemon cards so that's kind of a concern.. especially for higher end cards. Also, has anyone seen if US customs is basing what to pull based on the HS codes specifically? if so then pokemon falls into code #9504.40.00.00 Wondering for adult level collectables 14+ toys vs 3+ toys.. if US customs is just flagging lazy HS code users, the two codes (9503.00.00.73 vs 9503.00.00.90) would made the difference (73 for younger and 90 for 13+ )

Not only can we not purchase Canada Post labels to any EU countries on eBay Canada labels, we also cannot purchase them from Canada Post!!! PO outlets were advised that effective today June 30, parcel service to 12 of the 27 EU countries has been SUSPENDED. So the only game in town to ship/sell to the EU is via eBay EIS, a courier (very expensive), or Chit Chats or Stallion.

Am I to understand that the new CPSC filing mostly applies to things made in 2008+ and not for example a 100-200 yr old item with no certificates or receipts etc.? I mostly sell handmade oil paint for artists (of which I will unfortunately have to shell out $1000 for a toxicology report for) but 1/4 of my business is vintage art supplies as well. The youngest vintage supplies I sell are from the 60's and very rarely the 70's and 80's but MOST of the time they are 1880-1950. Am I to understand that these items qualify for a Disclaim A and dont need to produce any reports etc? Someone walk me through this if you can. I know my HS codes are effected but I am still trying to wrap my head around everything. thanks
