We'd be back in the US game if eBay would stop scaring off US customers

Doing some adjustments to my US selling - moving some listings to .com in certain categories with my own DDP flat rate shipping - and running numbers. Interesting that now USPS is raising rates, CP tracked packet USA puts us pretty much on par for shipping costs of USPS for items under 8 ounces and close up to a pound. So if your listing on .com and are willing to eat the 10% tariff you're pretty much there with US sellers regarding shipping costs, and that's if US sellers are passing on their USPS discount. Their shipping is higher than CP tracked packet USA if they aren't. Obviously I'm not putting anything on .com that hits regulatory hurdles which is a whole different story. So - eBay: GET RID OF THE LIES REGARDING FEES BEING CHARGED AT DELIVERY. Give us a chance! If eBay doesn't listen I think getting some level of government intervention involved is going to be needed - or perhaps a class action process. Our economic activity generates as much employment (~339,000 jobs) in Canada as other major sectors. Stop ignoring us.

      Understanding Shipping Labels and Billing

If you chose not to use a shipping label that you printed due to an error in it and print a new one will you be billed for the first one too? Or are they only billed once you get them scanned at the post office. If you don't use a label do you need to seek a refund or is it just not billed in the first place?

Canada Post has suspended parcel service to 12 of the 27 EU countries!

Not only can we not purchase Canada Post labels to any EU countries on eBay Canada labels, we also cannot purchase them from Canada Post!!! PO outlets were advised that effective today June 30, parcel service to 12 of the 27 EU countries has been SUSPENDED. So the only game in town to ship/sell to the EU is via eBay EIS, a courier (very expensive), or Chit Chats or Stallion.

Help for shipping to USA with CPSC requirements!

Where is the help and information for the new CPSC requirements for selling and shipping from Canada to the US? I sell about 95% of my stuff to the USA - mostly vintage toys. Have been using EIS and it has been fine, EXCEPT last week had packages rejected at the border, and could only assume it was due to the new CPSC. I tried to figure out how to work around the codes, since everything I sell is different and used, no packages. Then tried to limit my sales to just Canada because of US bidders on my items. Couldn't do it. Had to opt out of EIS, which I didn't want to do. I've survived over 20 years on ebay with covid, tarrifs, postal strikes ect but I feel like this will do me and other vintage toy sellers in! Anyone have any hope? Or information? Thank you!

Thinking of selling a Roblox code on Ebay.

I would deliver the code via ebay messages system and include a photo of the code. The code is on a scratcher included in a toy. There would be no delivery costs ie shipping or other expenses other than ebay fees. My understanding is that doing this is in a high scam category. Any tips on protecting myself would be appreciated.

Zero shipping options to the Czech Republic?

I have a relatively expensive sale to the Czech Rebublic and no way to ship it? At the shipping label checkout all it says is no shipping services available? Is this an ebay thing anyone know?

Mass Reports of Canadian eIS Shipments to USA Being Refunded and Liquidated Due to New CPSC Compliance

Head's up for anyone that sells things that fall under the new CPSC regulations that went into effect today (toys and clothing, mainly). There's a ton of reports coming in that items shipped via eIS to the States are not making it across the border - the order is being cancelled, the buyer is getting refunded (but you also get to keep the money), and eBay is stating they will liquidate the items in an attempt to recoup some of their money. I have to imagine this is costing eBay (specifically eBay Canada) a ton of money at the moment. I would expect them to fully turn off eIS on a bunch of categories until they figure out how to deal with this better (if they ever do). RIP Canadian toy sellers (and possibly clothing sellers too, but the majority of the reports I've seen so far have been for toys).

Dot ca forum vs Dot com

For anyone interested in comparing the 2 new versions of this forum. The differences are really seen testing the dropdown options as to what is or isn't available and what is or isn't working. Testing search on the Canadian site can be very challenging. Search results are coming up in no particular order. You can manually choose a date window but no other similar filters like in the past. Both probably should have included some sort of tutorial. Especially for anyone new to this. https://community.ebay.ca/

      Pokemon Cards / CPSC Requirements?

So I was posting a listing for a Pokemon card yesterday and noticed when I got to the end of the listing it was asking for a Children's Certificate of Conformity as a normal toy would.. I can however find no information online pertaining to if pokemon cards (or TCG cards in general) fall under the CPSC need to provide a Children's Certificate of Conformity.. moreover I started trying to look for some of these Certificates online at any of the large manufacturers and only LEGO from what I can tell has the documentation online. Was this added as eBay has TCG cards under the "toys" category and they just opened the Cert upload tab for everything in the category? At that point after reading that if the Cert was missing americans won't be able to buy it or it'll be hidden I was like "fine, americans won't see any of the few toys I have online".. but I do sell more then a few pokemon cards so that's kind of a concern.. especially for higher end cards. Also, has anyone seen if US customs is basing what to pull based on the HS codes specifically? if so then pokemon falls into code #9504.40.00.00 Wondering for adult level collectables 14+ toys vs 3+ toys.. if US customs is just flagging lazy HS code users, the two codes (9503.00.00.73 vs 9503.00.00.90) would made the difference (73 for younger and 90 for 13+ )

Using Fedex and UPS with eBay labels

Has anyone recently been assigning Fedex and UPS to their listings for shipping in Canada? Are the charges processing as they were created? Higher or lower or bang on? How has processing time been? I have noticed that for some shipments price quoted has been better than the CP option? Disclaimer. Couriers can have more challenges like not being able to deliver to PO box or secure building.
