My experience, selling costs 2014

I don't know if this is of use to anyone but it only takes a moment to list it....

Notes:

-I sell in the stamps category so my category FVFs are 6%

-I choose to list in two categories every time which costs me more

-I have an anchor store, annual subscription.

Costs in 2014:

  4.0% of sales actual PAYPAL fees (these crept up this year because my average sale size dropped)

  1.5% of sales PAYPAL conversion fees (from US$ to $C this may be a tad low)

10.0 % of sales averaged monthly cost

======

15.5%  Total selling cost against sales

(Note that across all my online selling venues, this is the best/least expensive rate, across all online/traditional venues, it is either the best or 2nd best, it is harder for me to do a direct costs comparison against all of the traditional "product lines")

Nice summary of the reason many of us are increasing our listings on the Big Ranch site.

Re: My experience, selling costs 2014

The Ranch is cheap, but buyers are few and far between.

It's very easy to list-- you can put your entire eBay stock there with a couple of clicks.

But in my varied attempts to list there, I found that I had to go through my listings daily to remove eBay sales. I had to remove any Ranch sales from eBay less than a dozen times in three tries under four IDs with upwards of 10,000 listings.

I buy in CDN and sell in American. My fees average around 16%. The exchange rate is around 20%. I am making a profit on fees.
