Newbie seller struggling with setting up shipping in listing.

I am setting up a listing but I am struggling on how to set up the shipping.

I have done  some digging and keep seeing that Canada Post is too expensive and it will turn off buyers when they see the shipping costs in listing.  And then I see info stating that you should not use calculated shipping.

So i am confused.

How should I be setting up my listings in the best way to ensure i am using the best shipping method.

Another thing I am seeing is if I were to use 'Calculated Shipping' there is no way to see what the listing will show for the costs.  It works off of the logged in users postal code so how could I see what numbers are generated?

Thanks and I look forward to your reply.

For some of my bigger items that go via Parcel (XPost, Expedited, etc.) I use calculated shipping. For the smaller things that go via lettermail, I use a flat cost since I know for sure how much the cost would be regardless of where it's going.

Sign up for a Venture One card, you get 5% of most parcel services with Canada Post. Or, you could ship via Paypal Shipping, which gives you ~15%-18% of most parcel services with Canada Post.

Keep in mind ebay takes a percentage of what you charge for shipping.
