Statue of Sir John A. Macdonald defaced in Kingston, Ont.

On what would have been his 198th birthday, Sir John A. Macdonald's statue in Kingston, Ont., has been defaced by vandals, with the words 'murderer', 'colonizer', and 'this is stolen land' written on the monument.

Most Native people prefer the word Native, because they are 'native' to the continent.

The name Indian was a mistake in the first place. Columbus was probably a member of the Harper government because he left not knowing where he was going, and when he got there he did not know where he was. He returned not knowing where he had been, decimated the well-being of the majority of the population while he was there, and did it all on someone else's money.
