bid on an item and almost instantly I get a bid cancellation from ebay and the item is removed why?

If the item's been removed, we may not be able to do that, though.

The removal probably came first.

If the product was prohibited (fireworks? tobacco? some brands ? animal parts?) it could be just the item itself.

Or the seller may have been acting nefariously and been made Not A Registered User (NARU).

If it were just you, the seller may have a phobia about zero feedback buyers and cancels those bids. Silly him.

Or you might have Strikes for Unpaid Items which most sellers Block automatically.

For all but the last, you are better off protected against future problems.

And the last wouldn't get you much sympathy here.
